More about studying in Gold Coast »
Once a barren swamp and flood plain, the Gold Coast is now one of the most popular coastal strips in Australia for tourists. What used to be muck and mire has been replaced by high-rise hotels, bustling surfing beaches, theme parks and other attractions. Located in the south-east corner of Queensland, the Gold Coast is covered by long stretches of coastline and lush hilly vegetation inland which includes extensive rainforests. Known for its spectacular views (check out Burleigh Head or Coolangatta Beach) and nightlife (head to Surfers Paradise for the best nightclubs and unbelievable international events), taking English courses in Gold Coast might require some sunglasses to read on the beach with! When studying at an English school in the Gold Coast don't forget to bring your appetite, since there are over 1,000 restaurants in the area that will make your mouth water. If you're looking for something a little more relaxed (or student budget friendly), Gold Coast offers over 200 parks with free access to barbecue grills for some great cook outs. Although, you'll have to get used to the lingo, and "throw another shrimp on the 'barbie" when someone asks you.
