Malay is an easier language to study compare to English and Mandarin which you may need to spend 300 hours before you can use any of the latter in simple conversation, while for Malay, you can just spend around 100 hours studying before you are able to do so. This is because Malay does not use past and past participle verbs.

By this time, the early distractions are over and the student has "settled in". The average student takes about 12 weeks of language studies abroad.
