The Goethe-Zertifikat B1 is awarded to students who demonstrate a solid grasp of day‐to‐day German and are able to overcome the difficulties presented by daily communication in the German language. The Goethe-Zertifikat B1 is the German Intermediate level examination that tests basic knowledge of grammatical structures and a student’s ability to communicate in all 4 skills: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.
The Goethe-Zertifikat B2 is the first Advanced level examination in German. Passing this examination shows the student has a very good understanding of the German language and is able to tackle standard German as well as a variety of dialects.

How long should I study?
The minimum duration for a language course is usually two weeks, but students benefit the most starting from the 3rd and 4th weeks of their language course, after they get used to the new environment. By this time, the early distractions are over and the student has "settled in". The average student takes about 12 weeks of language studies abroad.
