On the course students learn through project-based lessons, study tours and a choice of academic, active and creative electives. It is suitable for all levels and it caters to students aged 11 to 17. On arrival students will be tested to make sure they are placed in a group that suits their ability Please find some information on course and college attached.
Winter Explorer is designed around six weekly project themes:
• Week 1 (05 January): Winter Wonderland
• Week 2 (12January): Imagine Tomorrow
• Week 3 & 4 (19 January): Kingdom of Culture (includes trip to Edinburgh)
• Week 5 (02 February): Dynamic Discoveries
• Week 6 (09 February): Magic, Myths and Legends
Programme based on a 2-week course:
Project-based lessons: 30 hours
Lessons focus on a project to suit the level and age range of the class. Students learn something new every time.
Afternoon Educational Activities: 18 hours
Elective sessions are taught by experienced activity leaders and develop students’ English skills. A mix of active, academic, and creative options are available.
Students can try a variety of different sports and creative activities each week. Every session is taught by experienced activity leaders who help students develop their skills and ability in the activity – all through the medium of English. Students can practice their English and make new friends from all over the world along the way!
Some examples: Arts & Crafts, British Literature, Dance, Drama, Dodgeball, Film and Photography, Football, Health and Fitness, Journalism, Music and Rounders.
Study tours: 3 full day study tours
Each student benefits from the opportunity to explore the UK and practice the language they have learned in lessons. Destinations relate to the theme of the week.
Evening Activities: 9 hours per week
After lessons, afternoon electives and a delicious dinner, students have an evening activity. Examples of evening activities include team-building challenges, treasure hunts and film nights.
Students booking a course that includes weeks 3 & 4 will also enjoy a 3-day trip to Edinburgh, Scotland’s historic capital.

All our young learner courses have tuition, activities, trips, accommodation and meals included.
We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from . Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.
If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.
