In this World Heritage Site with its over 120 churches and its stunning panoply of architectural styles, stretching from the 11th century to the modern day, you can learn Polish while imbibing the very spirit of Poland. It might be difficult getting to your classes on time with so much to look at on the way to school, but that will just inspire you to learn better so that you can go and see, and ask questions about, the six thousand historic sites and over two million works of art found in the Old Town district alone. And when the sun shines, well, there are dozens of gardens, parks and forests to explore or to rest in, like the Planty Park with its scenic walkway where you can join Cracovians as they take the air and practice your Polish with them – or if you'd rather make sure you're staying in shape, visit the Jordan Park, with its outdoor exercise fixtures. To improve your ear, in the evenings you could go to one of the many theatres, including the Groteska Theatre of Puppetry. In Poland's cultural capital, there's always something to do – and if sports are more your thing than culture, well's, there's football, ice hockey, rugby and basketball to be seen. On weekends, go and explore the rich surroundings of Kraków, including the unforgettable Wieliczka salt mines with their amazing collection of statues carved in salt. How long should I study?
The minimum duration for a language course is usually two weeks, but students benefit the most starting from the 3rd and 4th weeks of their language course, after they get used to the new environment. By this time, the early distractions are over and the student has "settled in". The average student takes about 12 weeks of language studies abroad.
