If you're around in August, you can go to the forty-year-old Reading Festival, the world's oldest popular music festival still in existence. Be warned, though – if the audience doesn't like the music, they'll throw plastic bottles at the stage until the band leaves. At the same time there's the Fringe Festival, with its smaller groups showing off all around town. Or if you're here in May, join in the festivities of the four-day Beer Festival. With its several orchestra and many theatres, Reading offers much for those on the lookout for cultural activities in the evening, while if you're more into sports, well, there's rugby and football to be watched, and once a year there's the Reading Half-Marathon to see – or even to join in with, if you feel like it. Samiad's exclusive English plus Horse-Riding Specialism programme is suitable for keen horse riders no matter what their experience level! Absolute beginners are also welcome.
