More about studying in Mongolia »
Sandwiched between Russia and China is the ancestral home of Genghis Khan. Study Mongolian courses in Mongolia and learn how the great warrior's legacy lives on in the prideful people. It is hard to miss the large statue of Khan while standing in Sukhbaatar Square, the center of Ulaanbaatar. Yet as you stroll the cosmopolitan streets, art galleries, stunning Winter Palace and Gandan Kild monastery of the capital city, it is easy to see how far the city, and the whole country, has come since his days. Fortunately, what has not changed is the wide-open and gorgeous landscape for which Mongolia is renowned. The north of the country is lush with lakes and forests, the south bleeds into the arid Gobi Desert, and the jagged peaks of the Altai Mountains rise up from the west. The parkland, recreational activities and discoveries are endless. Ride with skilled horsemen through the Siberian forests and alpine lakes of Khövsgöl Nuur and spot leaping gazelle on the steppes of Dornod. Fish the Sharga River for trout and white carp and watch the Tsaatan people herd reindeer through the prairies of the Darkhad Depression. Trek the glaciers and peaks of Altai Tavan Bogd national Park in search of ancient burial grounds and camp under the starry skies in Arkhangai. Find fossils preserved in the sands of Gurvan Saikhan National Park and ride camels through the Dundgov region. The list goes on and on. Go to Mongolian school in Mongolia and this wild and open landscape becomes your backyard playground.
