This course aims to improve overseas student's general English level. Once the course has finished, students should be ready to enter the next class.

The General English Course aims to develop students’ social practical communication skills in terms of four English skills: listening, speaking and pronunciation, reading and writing including grammar. The General English course is a 20 hour/week course designed to give students the opportunity for rapid progress in all facets of the English language.

English for Academic Purposes is aimed at students who need English for use in higher education or university. Courses focus on performance in English at University level, study skills and fluency practise.

The EAP Course focuses on helping students to develop the necessary skills for academic study in mainstream courses at colleges and universities in Australia. You will learn how to operate in a university or college culture, how to write essays and submit reports to a standard expected by a university or college in an English-speaking country, how to reference texts correctly and how to give a successful presentation.

You will have a personalised OHC English Programme based on a strategic needs analysis by OHC. You choose how many lessons you will have and on which topics and areas of language you would like to focus, depending on your personal objectives; for example, you may wish to improve your Conversational English, to concentrate on your Grammatical Accuracy or develop your ability to Read and Write in English.
