On the Sunday evening before the first day of lessons, students and teachers will get to know each other better gathering together in front of the school at 19.00 to go to dinner all together in a local "trattoria". This will allow us to meet all the students personally and to divide them by levels according to a placement test and a little preliminary oral test. Those who don't want or cannot come to the dinner should anyway come to the appointment in front of the school where they'll be given instructions for the next day.

Before the beginning of the course we will send you by email a PLACEMENT TEST that will allow us to find out your effective knowledge of Italian and put you in the right group. You can also download the test here, fill it out and send it back to us (email or fax) prior to your arrival to Camerano. The day before the beginning of lessons, during the meeting with the school staff and the other students, if necessary, you will have a short preliminary oral test with one of the teachers. Beginners don't need to do the test.
Small Groups
For each of the 6 levels, groups will range from 5 to 9 students (average 5/6 even in peak season periods), which will allow the teacher to closely monitor improvements and deal with any difficulties the students may encounter. Lessons will take place anyway even if the minimum number of students should not be reached. In this case the number of lessons will be reduced, according to the number of students in the class.
Our lessons have a conversation-based approach to the language, to allow even beginners to communicate in Italian. Each grammar point and new word will be inserted into the conversation, so that the students can get acquainted with the actual sound and rhythm of the language.
At the beginning of the course each student will receive a book whose contents will be enriched and expanded by notes and photocopies provided by the teachers.

We offer intensive group courses, courses in small groups, individual courses, courses for specific subjects (business, technical, literary Italian, etc.) and special courses (cooking, wine culture, history of art, etc.). Our classes are led by native speakers with a University degree and extensive experience in teaching Italian to foreigners, each course leader speaking at least two foreign languages. Our lessons have a conversation-based approach, to allow even beginners to communicate in Italian. All courses include not only language lessons but also glimpses into various aspects of the Italian way of life (everyday situations, songs, recipes, traditions, etc.).
Our language school is based in the little town of Camerano, beautifully set in one of the most picturesque and rich landscapes of “Marches” region. Located on top of a hill overlooking the sea, Mount Conero, the Apennines, and the surrounding countryside, it is the ideal place for those who want to avoid mass tourism. You’ll probably be the only foreign tourists in Camerano and therefore you will have the chance to speak Italian wherever you go (shops, bars, restaurants, etc.). At the same time, you’ll be close to all natural and cultural resources of the area. Besides its cultural and artistic beauties, Camerano is very close (10 minutes by bus) to some of the most striking and beautiful beaches of the Adriatic coast. It offers the possibility of excursions and trekking in fascinating places, thus allowing the participants to easily combine study, recreation, and relaxation.
We also offer a weekly social and leisure program for our students.
The nationality and age mix at Centro Culturale Conero varies over different time periods, courses and levels. Throughout the year, the average age is 37. In the summer, the average age is 30.
