LCI Houston is located in the historic neighborhood of Montrose. One of the most pedestrian-friendly areas in Houston, Montrose has tree-shaded streets, international restaurants, vintage shops, and several colleges.
Montrose is part of the Museum District, home to museums, galleries, and centers dedicated to promoting local arts and culture. The area is served by four stops on the METRORail, Houston’s light rail (train) line. Within 3-5 blocks of LCI, there are stops for several buses, two of which go downtown and to the light rail a mile away.
I had a very good experience at LCI. I had Grammar classes and Listening and Speaking classes. My classmates were great. I loved the Grammar classes. The teacher is wonderful. The location is perfect. It's near so many facilities at a walk distance.
In general, I could say that it was worth what I paid in terms of cost-benefit.
Thanks so much, Ana. We are glad you found your time at LCI Houston productive and enjoyable. Thank you for taking the time to write a review and letting others know about our school. Best wishes from LCI!
The location of the school is great. The course is good overall, but I did not like the didactic material. There were many audio exercises but the CD was not sold with the books.
The extra classes activities are legal and should be stimulated because it makes possible, besides the practice of English, to know the city and the local culture. The coordination and the teachers are very friendly and helpful.
However, I think that the didactics can be more drawn, with more daily exercises since the proposal was to take an intensive course, in my case of eight weeks.
It was great to meet and socialize with people from other cultures. This was very important for me, for my enrichment as a human being. In my case, I did not live with other students, but with my family, so there is nothing to say about this aspect of school attendance.
Thank you for your feedback. We are very happy to see that you enjoyed many aspects of your experience with us, but are disappointed to hear that you were not fully satisfied with all components of the course. We appreciate your taking the time to write this review and will take your feedback into consideration, as we continuously strive for student satisfaction.
We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
If you are studying full time in the United States for more than 18 hours per week, you will receive an I-20 that you need to submit to the US embassy along with your F-1 student visa application. The I-20 has a SEVIS tracking number on it. Students who wish to apply for a student visa must pay the SEVIS fee online before going to the US embassy or consulate for their visa interview.
Your I-20 will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.
Please note that United States law states that an I-20 can only be issued to students who intend to pursue full-time English language studies. United States law does not permit students to study part-time with an F-1 Student Visa. If you are studying for less than 18 hours per week, you have to apply for a Visitor Visa (B1/B2) on your own.
Please note that we do not book flights for our students. If you are researching airfare costs, we recommend using Kayak.com, a search engine that lets you compare flight options from your home country to Houston based on your budget, schedule and preferences.
