Course description

Our International Junior Summer School is an exciting programme of tuition and activities for 12-17 year olds, which allows them to develop their English and experience British culture in the stunning city of Bath, all while having fun and making friends from all over the world!

The Afternoon Academy programme (option 2) without accommodation includes:
- 15 hours of English tuition per week in mixed nationality classes
- 7.5 hours per week of Project-Based Learning sessions
- Lunches in the canteen
- Three evening activities per week
- Saturday full-day excursion

Our Summer School in Bath is designed to help you:
- Communicate confidently in English.
- Develop personally, to become happy and confident.
- Develop 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity, to help you excel in other aspects of your life - academic, personal and social.
- Become a global citizen, communicating with people from around the world, understanding other cultures,
preparing you for a changing world.
- Develop your understanding of British culture and way of life.
- Make friends from around the world, and create lifelong memories.

Each week’s lessons are based around a specific theme, for example ‘Music & Culture’, ‘Magical England’ , ‘Image & Identity’ and ‘Imagination’.

The structure of the lessons include 15 hours of English per week, focusing on speaking, listening, reading and writing through a number of communicative and creative language projects.

During the Project-Based Learning sessions (7.5 hours per week in the afternoons), students work in teams on projects such as making a film or putting on a sustainable fashion show, to develop 21st Century skills in leadership and global citizenship.

Bath is a city rich in history, so activities will include visits to important cultural sights such as the Roman Baths and the Jane Austen Museum, as well as trips to amazing UK locations like London, Cardiff and

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from . Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.
