"Effective professional learning"

Ellen Brinch Vestergård, student from Denmark

I booked a Group course but received one-on-one lessons only, because I was the only student during the three weeks. My teacher was highly qualified, professional, and personal at the same time. I enjoyed the lessons very much and learned what was possible within the time given. I liked her teaching methods which consisted of 50% conversation and 50% focus on language and grammar.

The school was situated 2 kms from my homestay - a perfect distance for a walk - and in the center of Quito, which was nice.

The interior of the school was warm and welcoming - of course it was a little strange to be the only student - but I had a good and pleasant time with my teacher.

The 3 cultural activities were fine, and for me they were sufficient because I also like doing things on my own; it is exhausting to be in a one-on-one learner situation for 8-10 hours!

My homestay was okay. I didn't need or want to eat 3 meals a day - I preferred the independence - but the family was friendly and we also did some things together. My room was big with a private bath, which I liked.

It was difficult to practice my Spanish with my family because I was too tired after lessons and their Spanish of course was harder to understand than the teacher's!

I now know that next time I book a Spanish course I will prefer one-on-one lessons, and I will book an Airbnb instead of a homestay - the latter is better value for money - and you can get the personal contact and practice your Spanish anyway!

Experience "Full Spanish immersion" with an Ecuadorian family!

Our homestays provide you with reinforcement of what you have learned during the day, in a family-like atmosphere. Living with an Ecuadorian family is perhaps one of the nicest ways to learn Spanish and to get to know the culture of Ecuador.

Our families are carefully screened to ensure a comfortable environment in which to live while attending our school. All families reside in short walking distance or bus ride away, in quiet and safe residential sectors of the city. The families, like you, look forward to meeting someone from a different culture.

Try it and you will find it one of the most rewarding experiences! You get a very comfortable and private bedroom, three meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner), laundry service, and the opportunity to learn about our customs and improve your Spanish.

Any particular needs, be it dietary, rooming arrangements (for couples or singles), private bathroom, or non-smoking environment, we have a suitable family for you
