The Intensive English course is for students who wish to consolidate their English language with the specific aim of fluency and functional language. The afternoon lessons are combined according to communicative fluency and not necessarily levels.

Avenue English has opened a second location in the heart of Sea Point in Cape Town! Our school is in a modern building with classrooms overlooking the sea and the buzz of Sea Point's Regent Road with all its coffee shops and restaurants.
This is a boutique school and the classes are small and intimate with all the modern requirements needed for an English language student.
All our teachers are native English teachers with exceptional teaching qualifications. Our lessons are personalised to meet each individuals learning goals and we are mindful of exactly what the student requires with the English language, e.g business English, Academic English or functional English.

The nationality and age mix at Avenue English varies over different time periods, courses and levels. Throughout the year, the average age is 24. In the summer, the average age is 16.
AE Cape Town does not hold classes on the holiday dates below. The school does not compensate for these holidays, so make sure to choose your start date accordingly.
Avenue English Cape Town is situated in the main hub of Sea Point. The boutique school is on the main bus route, surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants and malls. The famous promenade is down the road as is the public swimming pools and the cycle stop for the V and A Waterfront.
The school is modern and most of the classrooms have sea views!
The excellent location means that you are always within easy access to ALL the attractions that beautiful Cape Town has to offer.
Homestays are carefully selected and offer students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture in a comfortable setting while studying English in Cape Town. These homes are often between 10 - 15 minutes away from the school by public transport. Families usually offer affordable meal plans that allow you to sample the local cuisine. If you have special requests or diet restrictions (because of religion or health reasons), please let us know in advance. Your housing starts on the Sunday before your first day of class and ends on the Saturday after your last day of class, unless otherwise noted. Learn more about homestay housing
We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
Your letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged R 300 when you register.
