I really like the atmosphere where teachers encourage students to speak English bravely.
Show details » Read more...this experience it has been my real first experience, before i came here i never had a english conversation with anyone, to be honest never spoken. Unfortunately in Italy the English approach is totally different with this language, the teachers are terrible but recognise that it has been also my fault don’t change this situation until now. Just since this year i started to learn English, i followed my first English course (A2)in my city, Naples, so right now my level is very basic. When i came in the LSI college it has been a shock for me, because i understood most of the conversations but i had a lot of difficulties to speak with the other people and to explain my ideas but in a way or another this experience it has been a challenge for me. The staff in LSI are kind, they care about you in everything and if someone has a little problem they are ready for helping you. The teachers are very good, i had Rachel as a teacher and in my opinion she is the best, she is honest, she always try to give you different advices and the most important thing, she believe in you. Maybe i feel I have done a course too advanced for me (B2) and unfortunately i’am not very confident to speak English yet, i make a lot of mistakes, but is understandable because i’m just at the beginning of this long journey and i have to appreciate every single improvement, even if is small so spending 4weeks in this college it has been a big opportunity for me. The location is perfect, near the supermarket, the center of cambridge, the shop and the most important thing near the station, because i had to take the train every morning, in fact i has been at my aunt’s house, in Baldock. She treated me, of course in a special way.

In the morning the classes were about grammar rules and in the afternoon the classes were about conversation.
The content of the program was adequate, but 1 week is too short for a deeper evaluation.
My teacher was Ms. Fidela, very experienced and attentive to her students. She not only dealt with the topics with deep knowledge, but also brought cultural elements into the class. I liked it a lot!
The location of the school is adequate and close to shops and easy access, however, due to the high temperatures (above 30ºC), sometimes the room got too hot, but this did not compromise the learning process.
I stayed at The Willows Residence, Studio Room a spacious room with kitchen, study desk and a good bathroom. Great accommodation, but it was not very comfortable because of the lack of air conditioning, "too hot" and because the street was being renovated "I was not informed" which confused me when I arrived and also because of a certain mess that was at the entrance, I believe there were bags of dirty clothes that stayed there during my stay of 1 week. But nothing that compromised my stay.
Overall I was very satisfied with the school, accommodations and the Language School agency.
Regardless of age, social class and country of origin, I believe that going on a student exchange is a transforming experience, especially because of the interaction with different cultures.
I really enjoyed my time in LSI Cambridge. I visited Marc’s class and he was really nice and I learned a lot. In the beginning I was a little bit scared that I would not make friends there but the students were so open and friendly, it was very easy for me to find some friends there. I was a little bit sad that I had to leave LSI after one week. I hope to be able to visit LSI next year!

I think that speaking is skill where i have done the biggest progress. School should teach US more new vocabulary.
I also wrote essays and teachers helped me with my mistakes.
I took the shortest course possible

I really liked lessons with great teachers and students. Every lesson was so different and interesting, but in my point of view students could have more exercises in writing and reading. Also I think that teachers could give more homework for students to practice English.
School location is comfortable, it's near to shops and cafes where
students can eat and relax after lessons. My home, in Blinco Grove street, where I was leaving for 3 weeks was wonderful. It was so clean, cozy.
There are a lot of activities available after our lessons.
It can help improve our english or make new friend.
The teachers are very friendly and they will do their best to help us
If there is any problem. The classes are small so we feel more
Integrated with the other students.
The school is located near the city center so there is no problem to
find something to eat during the lunchbrake.
The classes were well prepared, interesting and funny. Good experienced teachers. The school has a very good location. Quite but still close to the city center.

I really appreciate the teaching method, which required conversation all the time. The limit of students in the classes was great. I can say that it was an unique experience to me.
The facilities were sufficient for a small school and I´ve appreciate this cozy environment.
I am very pleased with the choice I have made selecting LSI. I hope to joint you again soon, in UK or in any other branches of your School around the world.
All the teachers and activities were very great for my learning.
The location was good. They were very professional
The teachers was friendly, I had a warm welcome at LSI Cambridge. I'm happy to this experience. I met a lot of people who came from all over the world. It was pretty good.
I had two families in two weeks and both of them were great.
The teachers were very friendly, very professional and because of these I improved my English. Now I'm more confident.
I think it was good. My classmates, the teachers and the staff in the school were like a big family.
The websites provided helped to improve your English and to review your English.
I think in this school was nice
The housing was great. Susan and her husband Barry were really kind and receptive, and so were my housemates. The classes were qualitative too. However, the test which determines the level at the beginning is not really accurate.
The school was a bit far from my home-stay but it is really well-situated, near the city center.
I liked the small classes with good atmosphere.
The teachers did what they could to inspire us.
I would like to have more response on homework
It was a very relaxing period - compare to my normal education at home.
School facility- Bad internet, it would be better if you upgrade it.
The website for Cambridge was a helpful but was not integrated with the course.
My experience was extremely great.
I'm really sorry about the less time I had for this experience, only two weeks. Of course it isn't enough to improve our skills in another language. On the other hand, I achieved what I was looking for, to talk without stopping my sentences all the time.
The classes are great, like facilities, activities and housing. Regarding the teachers, I have to say boast their work, especially in Chris's case, who was a spectacular teacher. I would give him a 11 in a scale from 0 to 10.
I liked the class, the teachers, and the experience very much. I also appreciated the accommodation.

Everyone has a great attitude and you realize that they all enjoy their job, which makes studying a pleasant and well-supported experience.

The location of the school was pretty and lovely near the city centre and near a lot of students' attractions like the gym and the swimming pool. It was also near to a lot of restaurants and fast food, where you could go during the break.
In the school there was also a pretty garden where you could eat during the lunch break if you had take-away your food.
I only took afternoon classes to improve my fluency in spoken English, so my review can't be counted for the morning classes. My experience at LSI Cambridge has been altogether positive. The only thing I truly didn't like was that the afternoon classes were not formed according to the level of each student but were mixed (from A2 to C1) so my fluency couldn't really improve that much. The teachers were nice and professional, although I think they could have corrected more of the mistakes we made while speaking in order to improve our English, rather than only focusing on getting us to just talk.
I stayed at the Centralpoint residence. The location was really the best thing because it is halfway between the school and the center of Cambridge. You can get to both by walking in no time and safely. The building is a bit old (the carpet really needs changing!) but it's good enough for short periods. In my opinion its best characteristic is that you have your own bathroom! The shared kitchen is large and equipped with everything you may need. The rooms are small but adequate in everything. The thing I liked the most about the school were the activities they organized every week! On Monday we were given the social program and were free to choose between options, such as a night at the theatre in London or a visit to the Botanic garden, for example. They also organized volleyball and football matches, too for more sporty students! I really enjoyed the city sightseeing that was organized every week and during my stay I visited Oxford, Stratford-Upon-Avon, York, London and Windsor!
The best part of my stay really was the city itself; I fell in love with Cambridge! It's beautiful, full of large and well-maintained parks where you can spend your time when the sun is up. There are riverside walks perfect for both running or just walking along with pubs and cafes everywhere where you can just sit and relax or do your homework if you don't mind the people in the streets! It's a very lively little city and everyday there is something new to do if you are willing! You can go almost anywhere by foot or by bike! I was really sad when I had to leave!
I’m sorry you didn’t feel that you benefitted as much as you had hoped from your course, despite having a great time in Cambridge. At LSI, we take great care in testing and placing our students on arrival and during their course to make sure they are always studying at the best level from them. Having looked back, your Fluency 3 afternoon class contained only students at B2 and C1 level, which should have been challenging and rewarding for you. Some students can be quieter or more shy than others, so perhaps their level may have appeared lower than this on some occasions. As you mention, the focus on the afternoon is communication and therefore teachers will not interrupt and correct mistakes very often, preferring to do this at the end of the lesson if necessary. The morning courses which you did not enrol for do have a greater emphasis on form and structure. Please do let us know if you are in Cambridge again and we’d be delighted for you to come and improve your fluency and general English with us again.
