IELTS PREPARATION:
IELTS (The International English Language Testing System) is an English proficiency test developed by Cambridge University and is recognised world-wide as evidence of a person's English aptitude and is acceptable by most English-speaking universities.
There are 2 types of IELTS test.: Academic and general. If you want to study at an English University, Academic IELTS with a minimum band 7 is often the requirement. (Band 9 is the maximum level).
SGIC IELTS Preparation program is designed for students to learn and master the techniques of each part of the exam: Reading, writing, listening and speaking. Understanding the challenging questions and vocabulary is half the battle of succeeding on IELTS. SGIC's program also concentrates on the vocabulary and comprehension needed to increase test results from students.
SGIC IELTS Preparation program aims to give students ample practice tests in which to apply their techniques and augment their English and to focus on weak areas in order to make solid, consistent improvement. SGIC's experienced and professional teachers will provide regular assessment reports for each student to understand their strength / weakness and level of exam preparedness. Test-taking stress management will also comprise a small portion of the course.
After 8-24 weeks of intense preparation, SGIC aims to equip students with the skills to score a minimum of 7 on each of the exam components.

St. George International College is an English school for foreign people that offers different programs, from the classical ESL (English as a Second Language) to other ones such as Business English, IELTS or TOEFL, Teaching English for Children program, Speaking for Success media program and our excellent program of UCPP that prepares the student to go to a Canadian College or University.
SGIC was founded in 1994 and it has qualified Canadian teachers. Our schools in Toronto and Vancouver have a complete structure with a computer room and the cafeteria where the students can practice the language and make friends after class. Also, the students have a funny activity calendar updated every month which help them to immerse in the Canadian culture. Both campuses are located in downtown with easy access to public transportation, restaurants and every kind of entertainment.

Our school is located near the busy intersection of Dundas Street and Yonge Street in downtown, Toronto, right by the entrance to the Dundas subway station. Our students have easy access to all urban facilities, including transportation, dining, and entertainment.
Homestays are carefully selected and offer students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture in a comfortable setting while studying English in Toronto. These homes are often between 25 - 50 minutes away from the school by public transport. Families usually offer affordable meal plans that allow you to sample the local cuisine. If you have special requests or diet restrictions (because of religion or health reasons), please let us know in advance. You must check out 1 day after your classes end (usually a Saturday). We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
Your letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged C$ 100 when you register.
