I can talk only about lesson and teacher as I took lessons at my location.
It was individual lessons in an intensive format - 4 hours per day within one week (5 working days)
On a positive side - I had a very good teacher, intelligent, discipline and charismatic. He came always well prepared for the lessons with a lot of materials in a structured manner.
He knew the subject well, he was well prepared for discussion of a broader range of topics.
However, he was not professional language teacher for foreigners, and as such he had difficulties to explain some grammar rules, which is understandable. No one , but professional teacher, can explain basic grammar rules of his (her) native language.
My teacher was overqualified for such a simple objective, which I have pursued - to prepare basic exam.
All and all - I enjoyed having him as my teacher and learning from him multiple local peculiarities, discussing different complex political and social problems, but I don’t think , that I made a great progress in the process of language acquisition.
The other topic - the price, which is extraordinary high. I didn’t have a time to make profound search to find something better, but I will never repeat this experience because of high price and multiple unnecessary charges.
Location: I could not have asked for a better location the apartment was located on the hills' of Beaulieu Sur Mer, a quaint town on the Côte d'Azur.
Housing/ Facilities: The apartment was exceptional with beautiful views of the Mediterranean. My room with the adjoining bathroom was very comfortable and exceeded my expectations. There was air conditioning which I was happily pleased with. The meals were a reflection of the French meals and were very delicious.
Activities: We toured the nearby towns and beaches, restaurants, and shops.
Classes: The lessons were taught to be very traditional not what I was expecting but were thorough but boring not what I was looking for. We went over a grammar book and did the exercises. I could have done this on my own and didn't find it to add to my French. It did help review the aspects that I needed help with. I was hoping this would be more of a conversational class working on the areas that I needed help with.
Teacher: She was a very nice woman and a generous host. However, we got off on the wrong foot. I don't like to talk about religion and politics since those topics can change the view of a person. She brought these topics up the first night and our views were not in agreement which made the rest of the week difficult to make conversation because of our differences.
She did correct my French when we did have conversations which I appreciated. That she did often which I didn't mind since it made me notice what I was getting wrong when I spoke. But there was a time when I had my lesson and we would be reviewing an exercise she was yelling at me because I was having a hard time getting the concept. I had to tell her to stop yelling at me.
Overall if you like the traditional style of teaching and you are a beginner learner she would be a great teacher. For me, she was the wrong fit.
