General Spanish course with the same structure as the intensive courses (General A, 20 hours a day), intended for those who have more time, for stays between 8 and 52 weeks. The longer duration supposes the reduction of tuition price per week. Of course, the methodology and teaching quality of CastiLa is guaranteed, with a maximum of 6 students per class. As in other courses, the contents, objectives and method are adapted to the communication needs and the level of the student, to guarantee their progression as shown in the CastiLa level scheme.
Methodological approach: what does the course consist of and how will I learn?
The development of the course is based on the continuous practice of Spanish. Combine the practice from grammar with the practice of communication. A series of interactive activities in class, developed from the most advanced perspective of linguistic studies, which aim at the continued participation of the student.
In summary: practical exercises and communication activities to improve the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Rotation of teachers: these change in each class.
At what rate will I progress
The contents from level A1 to C2 are distributed in 24 modules of 1 week, to which other reinforcement modules can be added, if necessary to overcome levels from A1 to C1, in addition to the specific purpose courses to complete the level C2. This programming guarantees the progressive acquisition of communication skills, from initial levels (even absolute beginners) to mastery (C1 and C2). The student begins in the module corresponding to her level, previously established through an interview and a test.
The adaptability of the method allows the beginner to become familiar with a new language, to start using it and to gain confidence (A1, A2); from intermediate level (B1) make it yours and speak it fluently up to maximum communicative independence (B2); and at the advanced levels (C1, C2) to reach the deepest level for full command of Spanish. All students, regardless of their level, enjoy Spanish from day one in a unique environment for immersion.
Out of class
To achieve the objectives, activities outside of class with teachers are very important. Biweekly programming.

Castila is located in a traditional house in the beautiful Albaycin, with views of the Alhambra. We offer many different Spanish courses including intensive courses, DELE preparation, business Spanish, refreshers for Spanish teachers, etc.
The language courses in CastiLa are interactive, class sizes are deliberately kept small (maximum six per class) and participation in the college social programme enthusiastically encouraged. After classes, some food, and maybe a siesta, professors and students meet to enjoy tapas or indulge in whatever activity going on that day to enjoy Spanish culture and put the Spanish learnt to good use.In Castila you will find professors and students from all walks of life and from all over the world, forming friendships and experiencing life in Spain together.
All our teachers are native Spanish speakers with two basic requirements: they have the highest university qualifications and they have specific training in teaching Spanish as a second language. They are, without a doubt, the most valuable part of CastiLa.
The nationality and age mix at CastiLa, escuela internacional de español varies over different time periods, courses and levels.
CastiLa does not hold classes on the holiday dates below. The school does not compensate for these holidays, so make sure to choose your start date accordingly.
I had opted for an individual lesson; therefore, I was of course always alone in the class.
One of the two teachers suited me very well. The lessons I received from the other teacher were not okay according to my point of view; it was also the reason why I decided to cancel the last two lessons.
The book itself wasn't brilliant either: no organization and very difficult for someone who knows nothing of Spanish. There was never a repetition of the lesson before, on the contrary, you had not yet studied the new words and new ones were already appearing. It is not a good way to learn a new language.
I returned home very disappointed. In the meantime, my enthusiasm for learning Spanish has dropped below zero. Sorry to be so negative but it is my experience, my opinion.
