The course is for students who want to maximize their language learning practice during their stay. The course focuses heavily on speaking and communication skills. In addition the students get the opportunity to learn the local culture and customs.The classes stress the use of language in everyday situations. They focus on reading, writing, speaking and listening. Textbooks and a variety of other materials are used in instruction, including role-playing, newspapers, magazines and other materials. Other topics include: fluency practice, media studies, film and theater, local culture, current events, politics, and research using the internet. Intermediate and advanced students also have the option of studying in the IELTS test-preparation classes provided..

CEW is located in the heart of Cork city close to all amenities and services. The school's excellent location and its wide variety of courses make it an ideal location to study English: students can choose from general English courses or examination preparation courses. CEW has facilities that include a computer room with free internet access, free wifi throughout the school, self-study materials, a small library and lounge areas. The school offers a full social and leisure calendar to invite students to practice their English skills while visiting popular points of interest in and around the city.

In the event of participant cancellation, 50% refund on fees will be payable one month prior to starting date of course. Full refund on fees will be payable six weeks prior to starting date of course.
CANCELLATIONS
The agent shall adhere to CEW's cancellation policy which is as follows:
(i) In case of emergency or any unforeseen event, CEW has the right to cancel any course 2 weeks prior to starting date and refund any monies (Deposit, and Tuition Fees) which have been paid by the client.
(ii) In the event of the client cancelling his/her course 3 weeks prior to the starting date of the course no deposit and no tuition fees will be returned and the agent will receive relevant commission.
(iii) In the event of the client cancelling his/her course 4 weeks prior to the starting date of the course 50% of the fees will be refunded and the agent will receive relevant commission on 50% of tuition fees paid. Deposit will not be refunded.
(iv) Full refund on tuition fees will be payable by CEW if CEW receives notification at least 6 weeks prior to course commencement date. Deposit will not be refunded.
(v) No refunds once the client has commenced his/her course at CEW.
The nationality and age mix at Cork English World varies over different time periods, courses and levels. Throughout the year, the average age is 26. In the summer, the average age is 21.

CEW does not hold classes on the holiday dates below. The school does not compensate for these holidays, so make sure to choose your start date accordingly.

I liked the international ambiance that was in my classes and also in my apartment, since I shared it with four very nice foreign persons. Some activities were organized, like Irish dancing, and it was interesting. I think I learned a lot during these two weeks in Cork, spoke better English, and met lots of nice people.

Homestays are carefully selected and offer students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture in a comfortable setting while studying English in Cork. These homes are often between 15 - 25 minutes away from the school by public transport. Families usually offer affordable meal plans that allow you to sample the local cuisine. If you have special requests or diet restrictions (because of religion or health reasons), please let us know in advance. You must check out 1 day after your classes end (usually a Saturday). It is possible to live in a rented apartment during your study in Cork, but this tends to be more expensive. CEW provides some assistance with apartment rentals or you can rent an apartment on your own. Learn more about apartment housing
We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
Your letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.
