Course description

SSLC offers 2 different ways of learning English to suit individual learning styles and maximize learning outcomes. Also students can choose certain hours per week that they want to study (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 hours per week)

1. ESL Skill Combined (SC)
***Concentrate on developing overall level of English through communicative classes that enrich
learning and produce fast results.
Morning classes:
All skills combined into one well-balanced class: Grammar, Reading, Writing, Listening and
Speaking

Afternoon classes:
Afternoon classes are designed to offer students a chance to learn English in a more specific field of interest or purpose.
The classes range from academic and test preparation to general conversation oriented classes to support every student’s learning objectives.

The main functions of electives are to:
- Accommodate your interests
- Strengthen areas of weakness
- Provide solutions to specific needs
- Enrich your overall student experience

2. ESL Skill Focused (SF)
*** Focus on developing different skills independently, in various class levels, depending on your individual skill levels (flexible level system).
All skills separated into 5 intensive classes:
- Grammar
- Listening
- Reading & Writing
Focus on developing different skills independently at various class levels, depending on your individual skill levels (flexible level system).

* To complement the ESL-SF morning classes, students are advised to take the following classes in the afternoon for complete skill coverage:
- Pronunciation
- Communication (Speaking)

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

Your letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged C$ 80 when you register.

Flights and airport transfer

Please note that we do not book flights for our students. If you are researching airfare costs, we recommend using Kayak.com, a search engine that lets you compare flight options from your home country to Victoria based on your budget, schedule and preferences.

Travel insurance

Study abroad worry-free with Language International's health and personal effects insurance coverage. When you book a course with us, you can opt to purchase an international insurance plan that covers not only your health care cost but also loss of your personal belongings. You must book your insurance in advance when you register.
