The "English Exposure Program" is fully-customizable which is "tasked-based," meaning the students will apply their English in "real situations." The students do communicative tasks like talking with the locals, asking directions, how to shop and bargain, conducting business meetings or presentations, and other activities useful for the student's "English Exposure."
Students can choose to combine TOEIC lessons, American Accent Training, Business English lessons, and others.
The EEP takes 330 minutes, from 9:10 to 16:30 per day from Monday to Saturday (approximately 149 hours per week). Example of a typical day would be as follows:
• Breakfast - 6:30 to 8:30
• Lessons – 9:10 to 12:00 (50min lesson and 10min break between classes)
• Lunch – 12:00 to 13:30
• Task / Outdoor Activity – 13:30 to 16:30 (time changes depending on tasks)
• Review - Depending on the tasks
There are four steps in conducting the EEP classes:
Step 1 - Learn: In the morning, you will learn the necessary skills for the task like phrases, pronunciation, gestures, and others.
Step 2 - Practice: Then, you will practice what you have learned with your instructor using "roleplays or simulations" to make sure you will be fully prepared for the task.
Step 3 - Apply: In the afternoon, you will go out and apply your skills in "real situations" with "real people" (not a simulation) while your instructor monitors your performance.
Step 4 - Review: At the end of the day, you and the instructor go back to class and discuss your performance. Your instructor will comment, give you advice, and review.

I like domestic and overseas travel, and I am particularly interested in cultures and living overseas. I had the experience of studying abroad, but it is difficult to do so for longer periods of time, so I joined this program to travel again and improve my English. I had such a fulfilling week which I have never experienced before!!
The classes at the hotel were also fulfilling and the extracurricular lessons in the afternoon were fun, and most of all, it was my first time to have long and meaningful conversations with foreigners. Although English in the Philippines was somewhat accentuated, it was easy to understand, and it made sense (In Singapore, there were a few situations that I could not understand the accent, so I felt depressed.)
Throughout the week, my motivation for English has improved and I understand clearly what I should study in the future. I do not quite understand whether I was studying or playing, but since I came back to Japan I was asked by foreigners several times and I was able to answer easily with confidence this time due to my training.
If it was just a normal study camp or just a normal trip, it would not be satisfied. But in the end, it was my first time to travel and study so much, so I am very satisfied.
Thank you for the review! I hope you continue to improve your English. It was a pleasure teaching you.
1. About EEP system,
Learning English varies from person to person. I want to become familiar with real-life situations using English! I have been studying English for many years with this thought, but I could not fill the gap between studying and actual applications, so I had no opportunity to realize my ability quite well.
This time, I used the contents learned in the morning, then immediately went to town in the afternoon to apply what I have learned, and being able to communicate was a joy. I realized that this is a wonderful system, and it was unfortunate to not have this opportunity to do so quite naturally in Japan.
2. About the Philippines,
Before I went there, I did not have a solid image of the Philippines, but I got the opportunity to actually go and talk with various people. Every time I talked, it felt liberating when I came into touch with pleasant and kind people. Anyway, everyone likes talking! With it, I am expressing my opinion among the locals anytime! And the food was delicious. It was a short week but well worth it.
3. About Teachers,
How they explain and teach pronunciation, grammar, and English expressions were quite comfortable because I got quite adequate advice immediately on the spot, especially pronunciation correction; it was full-fledged, it might have been my first experience using those methods and I think it's was the best for Japanese.
Thank you so much for the review Mr. Kawa! Hope you can visit Cebu again.
