Course description

OISE's aim is to make a real difference to its pupils's success in future life. The OISE Segovia complete programme for Young Learners programme is one of the few junior programmes in Spain with a genuine academic focus.

Students receive a full immersion in Spanish with intensive classroom sessions in the morning and freer communicative activities in the afternoon. There is a daily lesiure programme which has a strong educational component. In the Saturday visit to the world famous Prado museum, for example, students will be asked to previous research a painter in Spanish and at the museum give a brief presentation to the other students. The course also includes a full day Saturday excursion, typically to Madrid, as well as full board accommodation and airport transfer to and from Madrid Barajas.

The course combines structured lesson time in the mornings with a team of expert tutors and freer communicative sessions in the afternoons. OISE Segovia provides the fullest possible immersion into Spanish language, life and culture.

OISE Segovia is one of the few Spanish schools for 14 to 17-year-olds with a genuine academic focus. OISE Segovia students are young learners with ambition looking to maximize their progress in Spanish during the time available.

OISE Segovia is located in a nice building in the heart of the old city within walking distance of all the major historical sites as well as numerous shops, parks, and restaurants.

The school has computers for use of the students as well as free wifi. It is elegantly furnished to provide a comfortable and dynamic learning environment.

The programmes offer host family accomodation and residence acommodation also during the summer. All our families lives at walking distance to the school and are nice and welcoming. The residence is also in the city center, 5 minutes walking to the school with individual rooms and ensuite bathroom, garden and swimming pool.

Both host families and residence offer home made food to our students.

We also offer Spanish courses for adults, individual lessons focus on business, or any other topics of the student´s interests.

We are official examination center for SIELE exams, and the Tourism, Bussiness or Health Diplamas of the Madrid Chamber of Comerce.
We also prepare students to take DELE exams.

Segovia is one of Spain's finest historical cities. Located in the heart of the country at the foot of the spectacular Guadarrama mountain range and just 90 km north west of Madrid, Segovia is a UNESCO heritage site.

The city is famous for many fine historical monuments, ranging from the 2000-year-old Roman aqueduct to the astonishing Alcazar Castle, said to be the inspiration for Disney's original creation. Segovia is a small family town with a population of just 45, 000. The Spanish spoken here is the clearest and most standard in Spain. OISE believes Segovia to be the perfect location for a junior programme. It provides a safe, enchanting, and above all quintessentially Spanish environment for a full immersion into one of Europe's most fascinating cultures.

"Excellent, but sometimes the temperatures were too high :)"

I really liked the morning classes with Alejandro, I learned many useful but also interesting things. However, afternoon classes class with Rafa were little bit boring. The overall school was good as well as the facilities, my favorite was a fan. The activities were very good, I enjoyed walks around Segovia and also the trip to Madrid. Maybe next time I would prefer to go to Madrid for more days not just. Lastly the housing, I liked my family because whenever I needed or wanted something, they made it possible .

OISE Segovia provides host family accommodation with local families chosen to give a warm Spanish welcome and to make the students' Spanish immersion experience as complete and as rewarding as possible. Most families are within walking distance of the school which is located in the heart of the old town. Some of the more modern family houses are located a short bus ride away. Many of these have swimming pools and hold barbecues etc for the children.

Full board host family accommodation is included in the course price.

Residential accommodation is available during the summer season at a supplement of 325 Euros per week.

The Segovia Residence is located in a residential area just 10-20 minutes walk to the school. It is a modern residence .
The students are accommodated in single rooms with en-suite private bathroom, and TV and DVD player.

The meals are all home cooked by a designated local employee who comes to the residence specifically to prepare the food.

The students in the residence have an additional leisure programme in the evenings with the live-in monitor, which include local events such as outdoor cinema, local folk festivals or street theatre.

The residence is available during the summer season.

In Segovia we do not have Adult programmes, we only offer in Segovia Junior programmes for people between 14-17 years old.
