Course description

CELTA is the most highly regarded and widely recognised initial qualification for English language teachers. The CELTA is accredited by Cambridge English Language Assessment, part of the University of Cambridge.

CELTA candidates should be at least 18 years of age and have a native speaker level of English. As a rough guide, non-native speakers of English should have level C1 (advanced), which is equivalent to an A grade at CAE or IELTS level 7.5.

All our Full-Time CELTA courses are very intensive. They run for four weeks from Monday to Friday, from 09:15 to 18:00 hrs. The course is continuously assessed through practice lesson observation and written assignments to hand in.

Places are often assigned weeks in advance so I would encourage you to apply soon to avoid disappointment.

How to apply:

Step 1: To apply, please complete the attached CELTA Application form. As part of the application, you will be required to write a 300-word essay in your own handwriting on why you want to do this course and what you want to do afterwards as well as completing the Application Language Task.

Step 2: Return your application by email (including the Application Form and the Application Language Task).

Step 3: If your application form and essay are both completed to the required standard, we will contact you to arrange an interview with the Academic Team. The interview can take place face-to-face, by telephone/ Zoom

Acceptance:
Acceptance on the course is conditional upon a satisfactory interview.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from . Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.
