Cambridge exams are recognised world-wide and are widely accepted by companies as proof of a certain level of English. The Advanced Certificate in English (CAE) is widely accepted as proof of English language skills for university entry, especially in the UK, and is accepted by more than 2700 organisations around the world.
All applicants are required to complete a Cambridge entry test.
The course runs Monday through Friday mornings with free afternoons that will be needed to do homework and self-study. Exams can be written in Cape Town, possibly in the last week of the course. Good Hope Studies assists with the exam registration.
You can expect to:

The required minimum levels are:
- Cambridge English: First (FCE): Strong Intermediate to Upper Intermediate level (B1+/B2)
- Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): Strong Upper Intermediate to Advanced level (B2+/C1)
- Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE): Strong Advanced to Proficiency level (C1/C2)

The English language school in Newlands, Cape Town, is located in an upmarket residential area. Here you can study in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. At the same time, you are close to all types of accommodation and only a short walk away from a commercial and office centre.
People learn best when they feel comfortable and relaxed. You will find the school building to be a warm and friendly place in a quiet environment. Besides the usual learning facilities, you will also find an interior that creates a pleasant atmosphere in which to study. In addition to fully equipped classrooms, the school building offers a break room where students enjoy free coffee and tea, free Internet access for e-mailing and Wifi. Our school offers a beautiful garden, where classes regularly take place, as well as a swimming pool.
We provide on-site accommodation where you can study and live on the same property. Alternatively you can choose our Student House only 15 minutes walking distance from school or you can stay with a host family (GHS Homestay) close to school.
Homestays are carefully selected and offer students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture in a comfortable setting while studying English in Cape Town. These homes are often between 10 - 40 minutes away from the school by public transport. Families usually offer affordable meal plans that allow you to sample the local cuisine. If you have special requests or diet restrictions (because of religion or health reasons), please let us know in advance. Student residences are more suitable for an independent student, who is looking for clean, basic accommodation at an economic price. All students must be 18 - 35. We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
Your letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.
