Course description

We offer a package programme at our junior centres, providing quality teaching, meals, supervision and an exciting social programme! Our qualified teachers bring the language to life through a variety of teaching methods. In addition to formal language skills training, lessons include project work, fun activities, and use of modern English language teaching resources. Lessons will also include preparation for excursions and activities, to help you continue your learning outside of the classroom.

WE OFFER: 20 lessons (16.7 hours) or 25 lessons (20.8 hours) each week Progress checks and 1:1 feedback sessions with your teacher Small international classes with lots of individual attention All learning materials End-of-course certificate and full report

WELFARE We want to make sure that you are able to relax and feel at home with us in a safe environment. All our junior centres offer the following: Full-board Healthy food choices, with plenty of variety Catering for special diets 24-hour welfare and support staff on site at all times Lots of individual care and attention 24-hour emergency contact number for students and parents Insurance included for all students. Our welfare and support staff are on site at all times - 24 hours a day - should you need any help while you are with us.
The following time table is an example how a normal day of a student could look:

Morning lessons 8:30-12:20
12:30-13:30 lunch

Afternoon excursions and activities (the activities are included to the price)

18:00-19:00 Dinner
After dinner activities or free time.
22:30 room time
23:00 lights out

There is for every week a full-day excursion included.

Important!
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included also included are all the activities.
The students should still take some pocket money with them if they want to buy souvenirs etc.

WELCOME TO ST GILES JUNIORS BOURNEMOUTH

Located at The Lansdowne Campus

With nearly 12km of sandy beaches, Bournemouth offers students a true seaside experience. Situated by Bournemouth University’s Lansdowne campus, our centre is within easy walking distance of the beach and the town centre.

Bournemouth is a young and vibrant town with a relaxed atmosphere. Its location on the south coast makes it easy to explore much of the UK. Students will enjoy excursions to some famous cities, including London, Oxford and Bath.

The town centre campus offers excellent, modern facilities. Students stay in high quality, single en-suite bedrooms in our safe and secure residence, where St Giles staff are always around to supervise.

CLASSES & MEALS
The classrooms are a five minute walk away from the residence. Students are escorted to and from the classrooms. All meals on non excursion days are taken in the campus dining room. A meal ticket or a packed lunch is usually provided for full day excursions. Students also eat out regularly.

ACTIVITIES & EXCURSIONS
A full afternoon and evening activity programme is provided. There are a range of activities per week including discos, film nights, karaoke, talent shows, football and bowling. There will also be between one
to two full-day and three half-day excursions per week included in the package price. Destinations include Bournemouth beach and town centre as well as excursions to places further away such as London, Oxford, Bath, and Brighton.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from . Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.
