Course description

This exam preparation course will prepare you for the IELTS (International English Language Testing Systems) test. This is the ideal test if you need to study or work where English is the language of communication. IELTS scores are recognised by universities and colleges, employers, immigration authorities and professional bodies. British universities and other centres of education generally require IELTS level 6.0 or higher as evidence of language ability.

We are proud to have an excellent IELTS exam success rate. We recommend a minimum course duration of 4 weeks, although shorter is also possible.

The IELTS examinations are held weekly and can be done at the end of the course at an examination centre nearby. If you want to do the IELTS exam at the end of your language course, please make a note when applying. Please note, LVC cannot register students for the IELTS exam. You have to do this yourself either by post or registering directly at an exam centre. We will email you a pdf file of the Booking Form with instructions about registration and payment.

Our IELTS courses focus on the Academic IELTS exam, however, General IELTS participants are also welcome. If you require the General IELTS please make a note on the application form.

Old Kent Road is rich in British history and culture. It is located between zones 1 and 2 in the boroughs of Southwark & Lewisham.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from . Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged £ 50 when you register.
